Your driver will pick you up at your place at 7am.
First stop of your tour will be the beatiful town of Orvieto, 2 hours driving from Rome.
The Medieval town is so characteristic with its Duomo, one of the best Gothic architecture in Italy, and also an important one for all the Christians since it was the birthplace of what is called “Corpus Domini”, the Roman rite liturgical solemnity celebrating the real presence of the body and blood of Jesus Christ in the Eucharist.
Orvieto is pretty and interesting with different museums, beautiful workshops, and last but not least the St.Patrick’s well.
We suggest to have lunch in town before leaving for Assisi, ask your driver if you want any advice.
After lunch time you will reach Assisi to visit the beautiful town and the famous Basilica of San Francesco (St. Francis).
Living his whole life being poor and devoted to spirituality, the saint is one of the most beloved in Italy.
San Francesco’s Basilica is the perfect blend between art and religion with numerous masterpieces by artist like Cimabue, Lorenzetti, Simone Martini and Giotto. Don’t miss also Santa Chiara and Santa Maria Degli Angeli to see the places where the faith started and where the saint himself died.
After the visit, around 4:30pm meet back your driver to go back to Rome and reach your accommodation at 7pm.
